New Delhi, Oct 27:The Supreme Court of India on Monday ordered the personal appearance of states’ Chief Secretaries on November 3, who have not submitted affidavits on their action taken on addressing the issues of stray dog menace in the country, as per the Apex Court’s earlier order.

The Supreme Court noted that only MCDs of Delhi, West Bengal and Telangana have filed affidavits on the significant issue so far.Except for these three states, Chief Secretaries of all states and Union Territories have been asked to appear before the court at 10.30 am on 3rd November along with an explanation as to why compliance affidavits have not been filed yet.

Worth mentioning the Apex Court had earlier sought the ‘action taken’ report on addressing the stray dog menace in form of affidavits. However, most of the state governments including Delhi, have not yet submitted their action plan and action taken on the concerning issue so far.
