Archana Nag’s house attached by ED in ongoing money laundering probe

Bhubaneswar, Sep 12: Officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted a raid at the residence of Archana Nag, who was previously arrested in a high-profile honeytrap and extortion case in Odisha’s capital.

The raid was carried out in connection with alleged financial irregularities linked to Nag dating back to 2022. Although Archana Nag was not present at the time of the operation, her father and other family members were reportedly at the residence during the raid.

According to reports, the ED had earlier served a notice to Nag, instructing her to vacate the property. The raid followed her failure to comply with this directive.

Post-raid, the ED formally attached Nag’s three-storey house, located in the Satya Vihar area of Bhubaneswar, under Section 8(4) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

Notably, Archana Nag and her husband Jagabandhu Chand were arrested in October 2022 after a woman accused them of taking her obscene photographs and coercing her into honeytrapping politicians, businessmen, and bureaucrats across Odisha.

Following these revelations, the ED had launched a separate investigation under the provisions of the PMLA, 2002, targeting the couple’s alleged involvement in laundering money obtained through the racket.
