Cuttack, Oct. 11:The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted the bail plea of Jagabandhu Chand, husband of Archana Nag who was arrested in connection with high profile sextortion case in Bhubaneswar.
Jagabandhu was granted bail against a surety bond worth Rs 2 lakh and a number of conditions set by the High Court wherein he has been asked to submit his passport.
However, Jagabandhu will continue in jail, for a number of cases are yet pending against him, said sources.
Worth mentioning, Jagabandhu was lodged in the Jharapada Special Jail along with his wife Archana Nag for allegedly extracting sizeable amounts from moneyed people and politicians. Subsequently, the Enforcement Directorate(ED) took over the case and filed a money laundering case against the couple following a number of illegal transactions were discovered in their bank accounts.
