Bhubaneswar, NOV 11: The BJP has approached the Election Commission of India (ECI) against the use by the Biju Janata Dal of the conch symbol in government advertisements. 

BJP state general secretary Jatin Mohanty, Supreme Court lawyers Sanjib Joshi, and Suryakant Padhi have complained before the Election Commission of India. They demanded that BJD's party symbol should be frozen
 
They have alleged that the party symbol of the BJD' s conch symbol is used in government advertisements in TV and in newspapers, even on government buses which is a violation of the Code of Conduct of the Election Commission.
