Bhubaneswar, March 10: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday visited the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) exhibition at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Unit-3, Bhubaneswar.

During his visit, he announced that the exhibition, which was initially set to conclude today, will now be extended by two days and will remain open until March 12.

Organized by Odisha Police, the exhibition, inaugurated by Union Minister Amit Shah on March 6, showcases new legal reforms aimed at strengthening justice and security.

Majhi praised the event’s street play and informative stalls, highlighting the exhibition's role in educating the public on India’s new criminal justice framework, marking a break from colonial past. He noted the positive impact of BNS in Odisha, with a projected conviction rate of 87.6% by 2025 and a 166% rise in Zero FIR registrations.

The Chief Minister also emphasized ongoing efforts to modernize Odisha's police, including new forensic science facilities and partnerships with IIT Bhubaneswar and the National Defence University to enhance police training.

The exhibition saw active participation from students and senior Odisha Police officers.Bottom of Form
