Bhubaneswar, March 17: Rain is likely at several places across the state till March 20 under the influence of Kalbaisakhi, the Meteorological Department has predicted.

According to the forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and hailstorms may occur at some places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore on Tuesday (March 17). Winds are also expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.

On March 18, thunderstorm with rain may occur at a few places in North and South Odisha. Similarly, light rain is likely at isolated places in North Odisha on March 19.

The weather department further said that on March 20, several places in North and South Odisha may receive rainfall again due to the impact of Kalbaisakhi.

Meanwhile, light rainfall was recorded in Jagatsinghpur and Paradip on Monday.
