Nuapada, Feb 20: The district administration in Nuapada took a significant step towards environmental sustainability by launching an awareness campaign focused on making the city plastic-free. As part of the campaign, the authorities have focused on raising awareness about the importance of eliminating plastic waste, particularly in the district's tourist spots.

The campaign began today with a series of events on main road, aimed at educating the public about reducing plastic usage. The district administration organized various activities, including a rangoli competition, poem recitations, and drawing contests, engaging citizens in a fun and educational way. Additionally, plastic-free awareness programs were held at the local police station and other prominent areas, urging the community to adopt eco-friendly alternatives.

The district administration is determined to make the district a plastic-free zone, with efforts already underway to reduce plastic use at popular tourist destinations. As part of this initiative, the administration is working closely with local businesses, the public, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution.

The initiative also includes an educational drive aimed at encouraging residents to switch to reusable bags, containers, and other environmentally friendly products. Through this campaign, the district hopes to inspire a shift towards a cleaner, greener future for Nuapada and its residents.
