Talcher (Angul), Sept 17: The famous laddu of Lord Ganesh weighing 3.5 quintal auctioned at Talcher Town in Odisha’s Angul district has fetched INR 19.38 lakh.
The Anmol Laddu offered to the deity of Knowledge and Wit, Lord Ganesh after reverence, was auctioned before thousands of people and among scores of bidders.
In the auction called on Tuesday, the pious Bhog-laddu, which is believed to bring good luck, health, wealth and prosperity, was jointly purchased by bidders Tapas Sahu and Jatin Mohanty, gladly paying the highest sum to the Talcher Cental Ganesh Puja Committee.
The auction of Laddu was organised under the aegis of the Talcher Ganesh Puja Mahotsav Samiti, which has been taking up Ganesh Puja & fair aucion of offered Bhog-Laddu for more than 30 years.
Since the first year of organization of the Ganesh Puja, the pious Laddu offered to Lord Ganesh has been gaining popularity and auctioned with high prices.
