Mumbai, Oct 2: Anil Kapoor’s Subedaar has won Best Feature Film for India at the Asian Academy Creative Awards, while Kapoor has been nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the film.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar features Kapoor as retired soldier Arjun Maurya, who struggles to adjust to civilian life and confronts corruption while trying to protect his family. Radhikka Madan, Khushbu Sundar, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal and Mona Singh also star in the film.
Kapoor called the nomination a “very special moment” and thanked the film’s team and supporters. He also congratulated Triveni, who has been nominated for Best Direction (Feature Film).
Subedaar, released on Amazon Prime Video on March 5, is among the 335 national winners announced across 18 nations and territories. The winners will advance to the international round, with the grand winners set to be announced at the awards gala in Singapore in December.
