Star Edition brings cosmetic updates and premium black interiors

Mahindra & Mahindra continues to dominate the lifestyle vehicle segment with the introduction of the Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition. This latest variant is designed for buyers looking for a distinct visual appeal combined with rugged performance. As an introductory offer, this special edition will be sold in limited numbers, with prices starting at Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom).

Exterior and Design Updates

This new edition distinguishes itself with significant cosmetic enhancements. The front profile now sports a sleek piano black grille, complemented by 19-inch piano black alloy wheels that add to its commanding road presence. While popular colors like Tango Red, Everest White, and Stealth Black remain available, Mahindra has introduced a striking new "hero shade" called Citrine Yellow exclusively for this model.

Cabin and Comfort

Stepping inside, the cabin offers a more upscale environment compared to the standard models. The interior features all-black leatherette upholstery with suede inserts. Mahindra has prioritized passenger comfort with front ventilated seats—a crucial feature for Indian summers—along with a sliding armrest and dual-zone automatic climate control. The rear seats offer a 60:40 split with multi-point recline functionality, ensuring comfort for long journeys across Odisha’s diverse terrain.

Technology and Safety

Tech enthusiasts will appreciate the 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system and fully digital instrument cluster. The SUV comes loaded with Adrenox connected car technology, Alexa integration, and a premium nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Safety remains a priority, with the vehicle featuring an architecture engineered for a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, six airbags, a surround-view camera, and front and rear parking sensors.

Performance and Pricing

Under the hood, the powertrain options remain robust. The Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition is available with a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine (177bhp) and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine (175bhp). Both engines drive the rear wheels.

Price Breakdown (Ex-showroom):

  • Diesel Manual: Rs 16.85 lakh
  • Petrol Automatic: Rs 17.85 lakh
  • Diesel Automatic: Rs 18.35 lakh

Having recently won the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2025, the Thar Roxx continues to be a top choice for SUV buyers visiting any car showroom in Bhubaneswar or across the country.
