New Delhi, November 10: Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the injured at Lok Nayak Hospital following a blast near Red Fort Metro Station. The explosion, which occurred on Monday evening, claimed the lives of eight individuals and injured several others.

Amit Shah, accompanied by Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and medical officials, held a meeting at the hospital. He confirmed that the blast took place in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort around 7 pm, injuring pedestrians and damaging nearby vehicles. Preliminary reports suggest fatalities.

Shah praised the swift response of the Delhi Crime Branch and Delhi Special Branch teams, who arrived at the scene within 10 minutes. He also mentioned that the NSG, NIA, and FSL have launched a detailed investigation, reviewing all nearby CCTV footage.

Delhi Police Commissioner Golcha stated the blast occurred in a slow-moving vehicle at a red light, causing nearby vehicles. He confirmed that multiple agencies, including NIA and FSL, are involved in the investigation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefed on the situation and spoke with Amit Shah for updates. The explosion left eight dead and seven injured, three of whom are in critical condition, according to a hospital official.
