Nilgiri, Nov 17: A doctor tragically passed away after collapsing while attending to patients at a government hospital in Odisha's Balasore district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Dr. Trinath Pal, a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) at Nilgiri Sub-Divisional Hospital.
According to reports, Dr. Pal began experiencing chest pain while seeing patients at the hospital’s outpatient department (OPD) in the morning. He then went to the washroom, where he collapsed. His colleagues quickly rushed him to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition, but he was declared dead on arrival by the medical team.
While cardiac arrest is suspected as the cause of death, the exact cause has not yet been confirmed. Dr. Pal was also in charge of the blood bank at Nilgiri Sub-Divisional Hospital.
His sudden death has left both hospital staff and local residents in shock and mourning. Dr. Pal was widely respected for his dedication to healthcare in the community.
