Bhubaneswar, December 21: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Sambalpur on December 28, Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra said on Saturday. Shah's visit comes amid heightened political activity in the state.

Earlier, BJP State President Manmohan Samal had hinted at a two-day Odisha visit by Amit Shah in late December. According to Samal, the Home Minister will attend an MLA training program, inaugurate new projects, and lay the foundation stones for upcoming initiatives during his visit to Sambalpur.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to visit Odisha twice in January 2025. Modi, who has already made three visits to the state since the general elections earlier this year, is set to continue his engagement with Odisha's development agenda.

In his previous visits, Modi graced the swearing-in ceremony of Odisha’s first BJP-led government on June 12, launched the Subhadra Yojana on his birthday, September 17, and attended the DG/IGP Conference in November.

As per the upcoming schedule, the Prime Minister will attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Sammilani during a three-day visit from January 8 to 10. He will return for a two-day visit from January 28 to 29 to participate in the ‘Utkarsha Odisha Conclave.’
