Wellington, Aug 16: New Zealand woman cricketer Amelia Kerr revealed playing against India in multi-nation ICC tournaments like World Cups is very challenging.

The reasons why Amelia feels so are because of India's huge crowd support in almost every venue in the world. Besides, India's quality spin attack, especially in the subcontinent pitches, is another reason what makes them a tough opponent, Amelia stated.

In 2017, in her World Cup debut against India, Amelia went wicketless. But she bounced back in New Zealand's victory against India in 2022 World Cup. She tested twin success of 50 runs as a batter, followed by an impressive 3/56 bowling effort.

She also stated that India have some world-class players, which too make them formidable opponents. In 2022 World Cup, Amelia claimed Mithali Raj's wicket, which is a great memory for her in the context of the match.

Interestingly, though Amelia began as a bowling all-rounder, but now she is a regular in the New Zealand top-order. Asked to open the innings at the tender age of 17 against Ireland, she scored 232*, which is still the highest-ever score in Women’s ODIs.

Though Amelia and her younger sister Jess play for New Zealand, but they have hardly been in the same XI, she admitted.
