Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday launched the Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha programme in three more districts of Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Malkangiri.
Under this initiative, a total of Rs 90.50 crore has been allocated for development across four constituencies within Mayurbhanj district, namely Jashipur, Karanjia, Saraskana, and Rairangpur. These funds will be utilized for the execution of 2,427 projects spanning 181 panchayats across 13 blocks within these constituencies.
Similarly, three constituencies in Sambalpur district, namely Rairakhol, Rengali, and Kuchinda, have received an allocation of Rs 69 crore. These funds will be directed towards 1,801 projects spread across 138 gram panchayats in 9 blocks.
Furthermore, two constituencies in Malkangiri district, Chitrokonda and Malkangiri, will benefit from an allocation of Rs 55.50 crore . These funds will support the implementation of 1,430 projects across 111 gram panchayats within 7 blocks.
The state government has initiated the programme with an aim to enhance rural development across the state. This programme focuses on every Panchayat (local self-governing body) and every village, with a substantial budget allocation of Rs 50 lakh.
The programme seeks to promote Jagannath culture, develop worship places, and strengthen the foundations of Odia culture, all while digitizing the cultural heritage. The focus is on uplifting Odisha's traditional culture and merging it with modern scientific knowledge, thereby building a more empowered and modern Odisha.
