Bengaluru, June 22: Pavithra Gowda, described as Kannada superstar Darshan's "partner," has been implicated in the fan murder case for allegedly provoking, conspiring, and actively participating in the brutal crime, according to the latest remand application filed in court.
The remand application details that Pavithra Gowda, currently in judicial custody, not only allegedly provoked the incident but also played a direct role in the murder of Renukaswamy. Initially thought to have been involved only in assaulting the victim with slippers, Pavithra Gowda was reportedly present during the fatal attack.
The application further alleges that Pavithra Gowda, along with several other accused including Puttaswamy alias Pavan K., Raghavendra, Nandeesha, Jagadish alias Jagga, Anukumar alias Anu, Nagaraju, Lakshmana, Deepak, and Keshavamurthy, were directly involved in the murder and showed disregard for the law, based on gathered evidence.
Darshan, also accused in the case, allegedly engaged his fans in the crime. Police claim that physical, technical, and scientific evidence substantiates the accused's involvement in the "inhuman and fatal" assault on Renukaswamy.
Following the murder, the accused allegedly used their influence and financial resources to dispose of the body and destroy evidence, while attempting to frame others to evade justice. The remand application asserts that the accused acted with a common intention to destroy physical, technical, and scientific evidence pertinent to the case.
Additionally, police have informed the court that Pavithra Gowda, Darshan, and other accused have allegedly mobilized a group of fans to obstruct the investigation, with technical evidence reportedly confirming the direct involvement of the accused.
The application notes that Darshan, along with Dhanraj D. alias Raju, Vinay V., and Pradoosh, have been uncooperative in the investigation, withholding crucial information. Furthermore, authorities disclosed recovering ₹37.40 lakh in cash from Darshan's residence on June 19, prompting further investigation into its source.
Police are also scrutinizing Darshan's post-crime communications and have recovered significant evidence from the mobile phone of accused Vinay, seeking to determine the sender of a crucial message.
Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others were arrested in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a Chitradurga resident and Darshan's purported fan, who allegedly sent derogatory messages to Pavithra Gowda on social media. The victim was purportedly abducted, brought to Bengaluru, confined in a shed, and fatally tortured.
