Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: Dense fog engulfed Bhubaneswar and adjoining Cuttack on Thursday morning, reducing visibility to as low as 30 meters. Several other districts across Odisha also woke up to similar foggy conditions, causing significant disruptions in transportation and daily activities.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow warning for dense fog conditions in several districts, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Koraput. The foggy conditions severely impacted commuters and transport vehicles, making travel hazardous.

Sources reported that several goods-laden trucks on National Highway 16 were forced to stop at various points due to near-zero visibility, adding to the traffic congestion. The reduced visibility caused delays and inconvenience for daily commuters, highlighting the urgent need for caution while traveling in these areas during such conditions.
