Jajpur, Dec 4: In a major breakthrough, Jajpur Police have arrested 14 individuals involved in a series of thefts across the district over the past six months. The accused gang had been targeting homes in Dharmashala, Kuakhia, Brahmabarda, Chandikhol, and Balichandrapur police station areas, stealing gold, silver, cash, and other valuables.

Acting on credible intelligence, multiple police teams were formed under the guidance of the Jajpur SP. Timely operations led to the arrest of both the accused and buyers of stolen goods, along with the recovery of significant valuables.

The arrested include Sek Alimuddin (24), Rahim Khan (20), Sek Emma Uddin (19), Sek Mustakim Alli (42), Soumya Ranjan Behera (29), Raju Khan (33), Sek Mehetab (28), Sek Chand (26), Gautam Jena (28), Janmajay Sahu (29), Amal Seth, Jagannath Ballabh Behera, and Pavitra Sethi.

Police recovered 225.09 grams of gold, 2.390 kg of silver, one Bolero vehicle, two motorcycles, 15 mobile phones, firearms, and cash amounting to Rs5,90,500. The Central Division DIG confirmed the recovery and arrests.

This operation is being hailed as a significant success for law enforcement in the district.
