Bhubaneswar, February 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi strongly criticized the opposition parties, BJD and Congress, for disrupting the Assembly proceedings over alleged mismanagement in paddy procurement. He also issued a stern warning to those causing trouble for farmers, describing them as "mischief mongers" and vowing severe consequences.

Responding to the motion of thanks on the Governor's address in the Assembly, Majhi emphasized the importance of addressing issues related to paddy procurement. He remarked that despite the change in government, the ecosystem set by the previous 24-year-old administration was still in place in some areas, including mandis.

"I have received reports that certain practices from the old regime are still active in various locations. I urge them to correct these issues, or they will face consequences. This is both a warning and a suggestion — they must tread carefully," Majhi said, stressing that his government is fully committed to ensuring justice for farmers.
