Bhubaneswar, Dec 15: Naval officer Lieutenant Harshit Deo has been appointed as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Odisha. The formal appointment ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan, where Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati conferred the prestigious assignment on him.

Lieutenant Deo was earlier serving as a Watch Keeping Officer (WKO) aboard INS Aditya. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), he holds a B.Tech degree in Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering.

He completed his Sub-Lieutenant (Afloat) phase at INS Delhi in May 2022, followed by the SLT (Executive) course. In April 2023, he was posted to INS Aditya for watch keeping duties and was subsequently appointed as Watch Keeping Officer in December 2023. During his naval career, Lieutenant Deo has participated in several fleet deployments and international naval exercises, gaining significant operational experience.

Lieutenant Deo hails from Lohaghat in Champawat district of Uttarakhand. He is the son of Shri Naresh Deo, a retired government teacher and recipient of the President’s Award.

The Governor of Odisha is assisted by two Aides-de-Camp—one from the Indian Navy and one from the State Police. Currently, IPS officer Shri Kuldeep Meena is serving as the other ADC to the Governor.
