New Delhi, July 31: Passengers aboard Air India flight AI2017, bound for London from Delhi, faced an unexpected delay on Thursday after the aircraft aborted its take-off due to a suspected technical issue.
According to an Air India spokesperson, the cockpit crew halted the take-off as a precautionary measure, strictly following standard operating procedures. The aircraft returned to the bay for necessary technical checks.
“Flight AI2017 operating from Delhi to London on July 31 returned to the bay due to a suspected technical issue. The cockpit crew followed standard protocols and brought the aircraft back for precautionary inspections. An alternative aircraft is being arranged to fly passengers to London at the earliest. Our ground staff is providing all necessary support to minimise inconvenience,” the spokesperson said.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and confirmed that a replacement aircraft is being deployed to complete the journey with minimal further disruption. Ground personnel are assisting passengers during the delay.
