Bhubaneswar, July 26: Fourth-year students of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, SOA University organized a training program in Singirisasana village, located at Purohitpur Panchayat under Dhauli police limits, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, demonstrating the preparation of jam and jelly from papaya and guava. The event took place on Thursday.
Under the supervision of Dr. Subhrajyoti Mishra and Dr. Pritilagna Dhal, students, along with approximately 80 villagers and women self-help groups (SHGs), participated in the training program. The program was highly beneficial as it taught participants how to create chemical-free products using readily available fruits, countering the prevalent market reliance on chemical-based items. Organizers also highlighted the health hazards associated with the adulterated products and encouraged people to prepare chemical-free alternatives at home.
