Bhubaneswar, March 4: Senior Congress leader and former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President, Harichandan, celebrated the joyous occasion of Holi with students and teachers at Bhima Bhoi Drustihina Vidyala in Bhubaneswar. The event brought together children with disabilities, many of whom are away from their families, making the celebration all the more special and emotionally touching.

For these children, experiencing the festival of Holi felt almost divine, as they joined in the festivities with great excitement and joy. The celebration left a lasting impact on everyone present, filling the atmosphere with warmth and cheer.

During the event, Akanksha, a talented student, sang a melodious song composed by Gopal Krishna, adding to the cultural richness of the occasion. Students also played the harmonium, tabla, and manjira, creating a lively musical environment.

As part of the celebration, fruits such as bananas were distributed to the children, and a variety of traditional dishes, including curd rice, potato curry, guguni, and rose jamun sweets, were served.

The event was managed by social worker Ajay Mahapatra, with assistance from Banknidhi Behera and Sitanashu Das. Bansidhar Biswal, a prominent figure in the community, also participated in the celebration.

During the event, concerns were raised for Indian citizens stranded in Dubai, UAE, and prayers were offered for their safe return. Harichandan urged the government to fulfill its responsibilities with dedication, emphasizing the need for the safe return of these citizens.

The celebration concluded with heartfelt wishes for peace, goodwill, and brotherhood, hoping that the colors of Holi would bring joy, harmony, and sweetness to everyone’s life.
