For the purpose a special vehicle has been designed and branded under the banner ‘Wheel of Kindness’. In the vehicle there are different shelves for display of clothes with trial facility which will attract the intended user in a dignified manner. Different collection and distribution points will be chalked out throughout the city for smooth functioning of the activity. Recently BMC has selected a non-profit organization called VIKASH to start the initiative of collecting, washing and distributing usable clothes in the Temple City; told Commissioner, Prem Chandra Chaudhary. A place in Madhusudan Nagar has been identified as Central Washing, Packaging and Inventory Management Centre (CWPIMC). Wheel of kindness is a new initiative of BMC which is going to be started in few weeks; he added. Responding to the notice inviting request for proposal (RFP) on December 17, four nonprofit organisations had applied for the purpose whereas crossing four rounds of the selection process i.e., pre-bid meeting, technical evaluation, presentation and financial evaluation one agency has been selected. Based on experience and other criteria the agency has been selected to start the initiative in the city, told Additional Commissioner, Abanikanta Pattanaik.
