Chandigarh, Aug 23: Recently he was felicitated by former Haryana chief minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda for winning a wrestling Bronze medal in Paris Olympics 2024.
He was the only Indian wrestler to win a medal in Paris Games. He has been receiving accolades, congratulatory messages and drawing attention for his Olympics medal glory. He won the Bronze in men's 57kg category freestyle wrestling defeating Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz 13-5 in the medal fight.
But low profile and humble wrestler Aman Sehrawat is still grounded and is keen to train hard for future. He has been at the fabled 'Chhatrasal Akhada' since he was 11. Speaking to a section of media, Aman stated he always dreamt of winning an Olympics medal.
He further said, his next goal is to win the Gold medal in 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Aman stated he has already begun his training and will be working hard on areas he lacked in Paris Games.
The Paris Olympics medal finish has helped him rise up to World No. 2 in the United World Wrestling rankings in his category.
It can be recalled that Aman's Paris glory was the sixth Olympic medal to come from the 'Chhatrasal Akhada' under the tutelage of legendary wrestling coach Satpal Singh.
From 'Chhatrasal Akhada', wrestler Sushil Kumar won two Olympic medals. Aman, Ravi Dahiya, Bajrang Punia and Yogeshwar Dutt have clinched one Olympic medal each.
He also revealed that his coach always advises him to stick to his strong areas during a bout and not change plans or style according to the opponent.
