Delhi, Aug 2: After Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won Bronze medals in Paris Olympics, national shooting team coach Samaresh Jung returned home from France with lot of excitement and elation.
He awaited appreciation and greetings back home, after Indian shooting contingent's medal winning finish.
But on his arrival in the national capital, he was served a notice to either demolish the unauthorised construction in his decades old house, or vacate his residence in two days time.
As per reports, Olympian Samaresh Jung and his Commonwealth Games medal-winning wife Anuja Jung were among the many residents, who have been served a notice to either demolish the unauthorised construction n their house, or vacate their residences at Khyber Pass in Civil Lines in Delhi within a span of two days by the Land and Development Office of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Like several other residents, Jung family said, they have been living in the locality since the 1950s. As per the notice, the residents have been asked to "vacate all unauthorised occupation and remove illegal construction from the land immediately", or the houses would be evicted and demolished by the office and other agencies in two days at their expenses. "This office will not be responsible for any loss of property thereof," the notice further stated.
Reacting on the issue to a section of press, Samaresh Jung said that families have been staying on government for decades. The land was handed over to residents in 1950s and Jung stated they needed a proper communication, more clarity on the matter and a dignified exit.
