Cuttack, Oct 22: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Tapan Sethi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Sub-Division at Badachana in Jajpur district, over allegations of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.

The searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance teams comprising three Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SPs), six Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), three Inspectors and other supporting personnel. The operation is being carried out on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.

Sethi is posted at the R&B Sub-Division in Badachana under the R&B Division at Charbatia, Choudwar, in Cuttack district.

The simultaneous searches are underway at the following seven locations:

• A triple-storey building at Plot No. F/779, Sector 7, CDA, Cuttack.
• A triple-storey building at Sidhamahavir in Puri.
• A farmhouse with a simplex building at Kantapada in Cuttack district.
• A double-storey house at his native village of Jhinkiria under Konark police station in Puri district.
• His in-laws’ house at Bantunia, near Shiva Mandir, in the 42 Mouza area of Cuttack.
• A double-storey building at Kantabada in Bhubaneswar.
• His office chamber at the R&B Sub-Division in Badachana, Jajpur district.

The searches are currently underway. Further details regarding the assets and other findings are awaited.
