Bhubaneswar, May 6: CM Naveen Patnaik’s chopper on Monday took an emergency landing in Jharsuguda instead of Bhubaneswar airport due to inclement weather.
As the weather condition and stormy wind was receded Naveen accompanied with VK Pandian left for Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.
Sources said Naveen reached Bhubaneswar in a helicopter following an election campaign at Khariar under the Nuapada district. However, the chopper could not land in the Biju Patnaik International Airport due to intensive rain, gusting wind and hailstone storm. As the storm continued for hours, the chopper after taking frequent rounds over the airport, headed towards Jharsuguda for a safe landing.
The chopper made a safe landing in the Jharsuguda Airport where the CM and Pandian deboarded for a temporary halt, the sources added.
