Bhubaneswar, March 10: Customers in Khandagiri are facing severe difficulties due to the shortage of LPG cylinders. Long queues of consumers were seen in front of the Lingaraj HP Gas Station as people waited for hours to collect their cylinders.

According to reports, many customers who booked LPG cylinders nearly 20–25 days ago have still not received delivery. The usual home delivery service has reportedly stopped, forcing consumers to depend on a “first-come, first-serve” system at the gas agency. As a result, several customers have been standing in long lines since late at night, leaving their gas passbooks in the queue to secure a place.

The situation has created serious problems for households, as many families are running out of cooking gas. Some residents have reportedly returned to using traditional wood-fired stoves, while others are purchasing loose gas from the black market at around ₹110 per litre.

Consumers also allege that while some are being asked to collect cylinders directly from the agency’s warehouse, others are instructed to stand in overnight queues outside the distribution centre. Overall, the shortage has led to growing inconvenience and frustration among customers in the area.
