New Delhi, December 23: Gold prices in the capital surged for the second consecutive day, marking a new high of Rs 1,40,850 per 10 grams on Tuesday, an increase of Rs 2,650. The rise mirrors strong global market trends, as reported by the All India Sarafa Association.

On Monday, the precious metal, with 99.9% purity, had closed at Rs 1,38,200 per 10 grams.

This year alone, gold prices in the domestic market have risen by Rs 61,900, or 78.40%, compared to Rs 78,950 per 10 grams recorded on December 31, 2024.
