Jharsuguda, Aug 9: Former Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) Gopal Das, prime accused in ex-Health Minister Naba Das will appear in the Jharsuguda District & Sessions Judge Court amid tight security today.
The charges against him will be framed today.
Gopal was brought from Cuttack Choudwar Jail to Jharsuguda under tight security this morning.
On January 29, ASI Gopal Das shot dead former health minister Naba Das while the latter was about to attend a party program near Gandhi Chak in Brarajnagar. Soon after, the Brajrajnagar police arrested Gopal. Later, the state government entrusted the investigation of the case to the Crime Branch.
Meanwhile, the crime branch submitted the interim charge sheet to the court on May 26 regarding the murder case.
Gopal was produced for the first time in the JMFC court on July 13. He has been kept in Choudwar Jail for security reasons and was brought to the court for the second time today.
