Bhubaneswar, July 30: A home guard who had been absconding in connection with a ₹20,000 bribery case registered at Mancheswar Police Station has been arrested, officials said.

Following his arrest, the remand of the accused, Sarfaraz Khan, has commenced. The Vigilance Department is expected to interrogate him after securing his custody on remand.

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹1 lakh for the return of a seized mobile phone.

Earlier, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rajesh Kullu and home guard Jyotiranjan were arrested in connection with the same bribery case. The investigation is ongoing.
