Bhubaneswar, Dec 22: The body of 42-year-old Sarat Chandra Bhattacharya was found under suspicious circumstances at a guest house near Nalco Square in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. Bhattacharya, originally from West Bengal, had been residing with his family in Bhubaneswar.

Police forced entry into the locked room and found Bhattacharya’s body with foam around his nose and blood coming from his mouth, raising concerns about the cause of death. Earlier, his wife had filed a missing person complaint with the Dhauli police after he failed to return home on December 19.

In her complaint, the wife mentioned a young woman who was allegedly with Bhattacharya at the guest house and fled after his death. She suspects foul play and believes her husband was murdered.

The police have launched an investigation into the case to determine the circumstances surrounding Bhattacharya’s death.
