Rayagada, Sept 1: When every door seemed to have closed, a debt-ridden devotee turned to the one place where he still had faith — the feet of Maa Majhighariani.

A handwritten letter, filled with anguish, helplessness and unwavering devotion, surfaced on Tuesday while the donation box at the Maa Majhighariani temple was being opened. The emotional plea left devotees present at the temple deeply moved.

The letter was written by Sunil Khara, a devotee from Koraput district, who placed his faith entirely in the goddess and sought her intervention to free him from the crushing burden of debt.

In his letter, Sunil poured out his pain and desperation, saying that he had borrowed money from around 23 people and had so far been unable to repay the loans. The mounting debt, he wrote, had pushed him and his family into severe mental distress.

With nowhere else to turn, Sunil made an emotional appeal to Maa Majhighariani, praying that she would rescue him and his family from their suffering and help him become debt-free.

What made the letter even more poignant was the devotee’s complete surrender to the goddess. He expressed his helplessness while placing his fate at her feet, seeking nothing but relief from the financial crisis that had engulfed his family.

Sunil had also carefully mentioned the names of all 23 people from whom he had borrowed money, making the letter not merely a prayer, but a deeply personal account of the burden he has been carrying.

For the devotees who witnessed the letter being recovered from the donation box, it was more than just a piece of paper. It was a glimpse into the silent struggles of an ordinary man who, overwhelmed by debt and despair, chose faith as his last refuge.
