Hirakud, Feb 5: At least nine passengers were critically injured after a bus overturned at Nuapada chhak under Charmal police limits on National Highway 55 in the wee hours of Monday.
According to reports, the bus, heading from Bhubaneswar to Hirakud with approximately 50 passengers, deviated from the road and overturned near a turn.
The nine persons who sustained injuries were immediately shifted to Rairakhol Medical for initial treatment and subsequently referred to VIMSAR, Burla.
Worth mentioning, there is a diversion near Nuapada chhak due to road construction, and the service road at the accident location is comparatively narrow.
