 At least 80 school students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Sambalpur fell sick showing symptoms of suspected food poisoning.

Sambalpur, Aug 12: At least 80 school students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Sambalpur fell sick showing symptoms of suspected food poisoning.

Sources said, the students complained of abdominal pain after consuming dinner late Friday night. Following this, the school principal informed Sambalpur District Medical Officer in this regard.

Being informed, a team of medicos reached the school for the treatment of students. 

The heath of the students is stated to be stable post-treatment.

Prima facie, the illness was likely caused by contaminated food or water. 

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the infection.
