Berhampur, Sept 15: As many as 7 students of Parala Maharaja Engineering College in Odisha’s Ganjam district were rusticated on Sunday for allegedly spreading nuisance on the campus.
Based on a complaint lodged by a social outfit with the Gopalpur Police, the authorities of the government-run engineering college reportedly expelled the offenders for creating chaos in the campus.
In the complaint it was alleged that one of the accused students had cooked and ate beef in their campus on September 11. It was also served to some other students of the college that triggered tension on the campus.
Following the disciplinary action against the offenders, armed police forces were deployed in the College and hostels, to prevent further untoward situations.
