Moscow collaborating with US on potential peace solutions for Ukraine.

The diplomatic bond between New Delhi and Moscow took center stage this Friday as Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India for a significant two-day state visit. During the high-profile 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, President Putin expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continued focus and constructive approach toward the ongoing situation in Ukraine.

In a pivotal moment during their bilateral engagement, the Russian leader highlighted that efforts to end the four-year-long conflict are gaining momentum. Putin revealed that Moscow is currently engaging with the United States to identify a viable path toward a peaceful settlement. He noted that Washington is playing the role of a mediator to help broker an agreement between Russia and Kyiv.

"I could share a great deal of details of events that are taking place in Ukraine, and the actions we are taking are in partnership with the US on a possible peaceful settlement. Thank you for your attention and action in finding a solution for the situation," President Putin stated, acknowledging the Indian Prime Minister's personal investment in global stability.

Moving beyond geopolitical conflicts, the summit underscored the resilience of the partnership between the two nations. President Putin emphasized that the relationship is not merely based on diplomatic formalities but is rooted in deep, substantive history. He remarked that the connection between India and Russia transcends words, relying instead on profound mutual trust.

The discussions also charted an ambitious roadmap for future collaboration. Both leaders identified key sectors for intensified cooperation, signaling a modernization of ties. The Russian President outlined specific areas where the two nations will work closely, including artificial intelligence, advanced aircraft development, high-technology sectors, space exploration, and ongoing military-technical partnerships.

This visit marks President Putin’s first trip to India in four years, a hiatus that has only seemed to strengthen the resolve of both leaders to deepen their strategic alliance. By focusing on tangible outcomes in technology and defense, alongside diplomatic efforts for peace, the summit aims to reinforce the long-standing trust that defines India-Russia relations.
