Bhubaneswar, Jan 7: VK Pandian, the Chairman of the 5T and Nabin Odisha, paid a visit alongside the 2,000-seating capacity Kalamandal near Sainik School in Bhubaneswar. This visit centered around the inspection of Kalamandal, which stands as the largest convention center of the Odisha Government, currently under construction by IDCO for the Odia Language Literature & Culture Department.
During the assessment, the Managing Director of IDCO received directives to expedite the completion of the Kalamandal project within the next four months. Pandian also proposed collaboration with the Culture Department to ensure that the interior design of Kalamandal resonates with the aesthetics of Odisha’s rich culture and heritage.
Following the Kalamandal inspection, the 5T Chairman proceeded to oversee the progress of the Akhyara Bhoomi, a project undertaken by the Works Department. This site is dedicated to commemorating the 1st World Odia Language Conference scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar from February 3 to 5. The Akhyara Bhoomi will feature a commemorative arch, showcasing the Kalinga style of architecture using khondalite stone. This structure is intended to be a focal point, serving as a reminder to the youth about the cultural and linguistic heritage of Odia language.
During the review, decisions were made to allocate space for potential future expansion of the building and to designate the basement for parking, catering to the vehicles of those visiting the cultural convention center. Furthermore, the 5T Chairman recommended the incorporation of greenery by planting trees across the space, aiming to create a visually appealing and eco-friendly campus environment.
