Rourkela, Oct 14: In a daring act, Maoists detonated an Airtel mobile tower in Bahada village under Chhotanagar police limits in Odisha’s Rourkela.

As per reports, the incident took place late Monday night, when a group of 12 to 15 armed Maoists reportedly entered Bahada village around 1 AM.

They instructed villagers to remain indoors before pouring petrol on the mobile tower and setting it on fire. The resulting explosion was massive, shaking the entire area.

The Maoists also put up posters at the site, declaring their intent to avenge the deaths of their comrades. The incident triggered panic among the villagers.

Meanwhile, security forces have launched a search operation in the area and are investigating the matter.
