Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: The cold spell in Odisha is set to subside as night temperatures are expected to rise from Monday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The minimum temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next four days, leading to a gradual reduction in cold conditions.

On Monday, the minimum temperature in Puri is expected to be around 18°C. Khordha, Chhatrapur, Gopalpur and Bhadrak may record minimum temperatures of about 16°C. Most parts of coastal and western Odisha are likely to experience night temperatures of 15°C or higher.

By Tuesday, Puri’s minimum temperature may rise further to around 19°C, while Bhadrak, Chhatrapur and Gopalpur are expected to record around 17°C. Across most parts of the state, night temperatures are likely to hover around 15°C.

However, in some interior and southern parts of Odisha, the minimum temperature may remain around 10°C or slightly above. The IMD has also forecast moderate fog at several places in coastal Odisha from the 9th to the 12th.
