Bhubaneswar, July 29: As many as 48 alleged custodial death cases were registered in Odisha during the last 10 years that is from 2014 to 2023.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed it in the Odisha Assembly on Monday.
Responding to a query by Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, the Odisha CM said that 8 custodial deaths are on record during 2015 whereas 7 cases were registered in 2019 and 2020 each.
Presenting the database in this connection, Majhi said that three cases of alleged custodial deaths were on records in 2023.
