Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: The 42nd foundation day of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha was observed today.
On this occasion, Santosh kumar Upadhayay, Chairman of Police Recruitment Board, wished for the development of the council and encouraged more people to enroll in government schools.
He stressed promoting creative activities such as environmental protection, sports, music, exercise, etc. with an emphasis on moral education.
Subhashree Nanda, Additional Secretary, School and Mass Education Department and Srikant Kumar Tarai, President, Board of Secondary Education (BSE) attended the ceremony as guests of honour.
Discussing the National Educational Policy -2020, Nanda said that children could choose subjects according to their interest and will get opportunity to express their talent in new ways.
Tarai, President, BSE informed that provision has already been made to choose vocational education as the third language from the school level. He emphasized on the development of vocational education and curriculum.
Ashwini kumar Mishra, Chairman of the Council presented relevant information and the role of CHSE in his welcome speech. He informed about the successful conduct of examinations by the Council, the change in the curriculum, and the social activities of the NSS wing.
