Koraput, June 23: In a tragic incident as many as four minor boys drowned after falling in a water-filled pit in Koraput on Thursday. The incident took place at Majhiguda village under the Sadar police limit. Sources said that a group of boys was playing in the village street at the Majhiguda village in the afternoon. Meanwhile, four of them fell into a deep pit filled with rainwater, dug out under the aegis of the economic corridor, and died on the spot. Being informed, locals with the help of fire service personnel and police initiated a rescue operation, but in vain. Koraput Sadar police have registered a case and initiated an investigation in this connection.
