Bhubaneswar, Aug 30: As many as 35 large-scale industries, established across Odisha are lying defunct, Industries Minister Sampad Swain informed the Assembly on Friday.
Responding to a question raised by BJD MLA Manohar Randhari based on the status of industries in the state, Swain said at least 7 large-scale industries are defunct in the mineral rich Keonjhar district.
“Of these 35 units, 6 are in Cuttack and 3 each in Angul, Jajpur, Mayurbhnaj and Balasore districts,” the Minister added.
Underlining their revival policy, Swain mentioned the provision for reviving closed or defunct industries under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, of the Indian government in the house.
