Bhubaneswar, Oct 20: As many as 31 platoons of police force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar during the Durga Puja celebrations from October 20 to 25, according to twin city Comissionerate police.
The police security cover across the city will include 12 additional deputy commissioners of police (DCPs), 23 assistant commissioners of police (ACPs), 41 inspectors, 151 sub-inspectors/assistant sub-inspectors (SIs & ASIs), 119 traffic constables, 70 APR constables and 207 OAPF constables to keep vigil on wrong doers.
Besides, control rooms have been set up at six places in the city. Strict blocking and checking will be conducted during the Durga Puja celebration. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply on main roads in the city.
The city will see 188 puja mandaps. The Commissionerate Police has divided the puja mandaps into thre categories. While 47 mandaps go under category A, 74 fall under category B and 67 under C
As many as 20 silver backdrops of Goddess Durga have been built in the city. The police will keep special vigil on those mandaps.
