Unbearable academic demands completely shatter a family in Lucknow

Heavy academic burdens and fierce demands from parents can sometimes push young minds past the breaking point, resulting in unimaginable horrors. We recently witnessed this dark reality play out in Lucknow, where a nineteen-year-old boy murdered his own father. His motive stemmed directly from intense NEET exam pressure. This shocking case serves as a grim reminder for families everywhere, including those guiding Odisha NEET aspirants, about the extreme psychological toll of competitive exams.

Fatal Morning Argument

During the early hours of February 20, a heated dispute erupted between a forty-nine-year-old pathology lab owner and his teenage son, Akshat. Their fight centered entirely around studying. Law enforcement indicates the father was strictly demanding that his son take his medical entrance preparations much more seriously. Driven to a blind and illogical rage by these expectations, the youth grabbed his father’s licensed rifle and fired. He committed this fatal act right in front of his younger sister, subsequently threatening the eleventh-grader to keep quiet.

Gruesome Disposal Tactics

Instead of seeking help or showing remorse, the teenager methodically tried to erase the evidence. He dragged his father down from the third floor and systematically dismembered the remains. Loading several parts into his car, he dumped them in a distant area called Sadrauna. He then shoved the remaining torso inside a plastic drum, keeping it concealed inside their own home. To further mislead investigators, the nineteen-year-old even had the audacity to file a fake missing person report for his father.

Patrol Team Intervenes

Justice eventually caught up with the youth on Monday evening. A local police patrol noticed him acting strangely while he was actively trying to move the hidden torso out of the house. Officers brought him in for questioning, and his contradictory answers immediately raised red flags. Following a tough interrogation led by DCP Central Zone Vikrant Vir, he confessed to everything. Law enforcement recovered the drum and sent the weapon for testing, though search operations are still ongoing to find the victim's missing head.
