Bhubaneswar, May 15: At least three temples were looted in Balasore district last night, sparking widespread concern. The temples include the Lord Jagannath temple in Benuda under the Kamarda Police Station limits, and the Maa Sheetala and Goddess Kali temples in Jhakajhaki under the Bhogarai Police Station limits.

Sources said, the looters broke open the donation box at the Lord Jagannath temple in Benuda and took away gold ornaments and cash. Similarly, gold ornaments, valuables, and cash were stolen from the Maa Sheetala temple in Jhakajhaki, as well as from the Goddess Kali temple located in the same area.
The thefts have left the local communities in shock, and authorities are intensifying their efforts to catch those responsible for the desecration and theft from these sacred places.
Being informed, local police reached the spot and began their investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
