Koraput, Nov 15: At least three persons were killed and another was injured after the car accident, they were traveling in plunged into a gorge on Sunki Ghat near Jodimadeli under Pottangi police limits on early Wednesday morning.
The injured have been rushed to Koraput District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Sources said, the family members were going to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh from Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon. While the exact reason for the mishap is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the car skidded off the road on the ghat and plunged into a 100-metre-deep gorge.
Pottangi police have recovered the bodies and started an investigation into the matter.
