Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: As many as 27 persons were arrested on Saturday night at several places under Bhubaneswar Urban Police District on charges of drunk driving. The police also seized 27 vehicles during the safe city drive.
Laxmisagar police arrested highest seven persons with seizure of seven vehicles andd Bharatpur police took two persons into custody with seizure of two vehicles.
Similarly, Jatni police arrested five persons and seized five vehicles. Bharatpur police, Badagada police and Khandagiri police arrested two persons and seized two vehicles each.
Kharvelanagar police arrested five drunk drivers with seizure of five vehicles. One person was arrested by Saheed Nagar police and three persons were arrested by Chandrasekharpur police with seizure of their vehicles.
Similarly, 40 traffic violators were fined by the Commissionerate Police on Sunday evening.
